Patricia J. Moscou

Psychologist, Ph.D.

Trained in the tradition of psychodynamic psychotherapy, I spent many years initially treating patients with severe and persistent psychiatric disorders and eventually teaching and supervising in the residency and psychology internship programs at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. After some additional years doing administrative work for the NYS Office of Mental Health (several facilities), I switched my focus from a public health perspective to independent practice, continuing my work individually with adults as well as with couples and families. Although my primary orientation toward psychopathology and treatment continues to be psychodynamic, I occasionally integrate some cognitive behavioral tools into the psychotherapy; I was certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy when the treatment was initiated at the facility in which I was an administrator.
