Elisabeth White

Elisabeth is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She holds a BA with a major in Psychology from Emory University, and an MA from New York University's School of Social Work. She holds a post-graduate certificate in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the New York Freudian Society and a certificate in Psychoanalysis from the Contemporary Freudian Society . In addition to the Women's Mental Health Consortium, she is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and is a Fellow of the International Psychoanalytic Association.

Elisabeth has over 10 years experience treating children, adults and families in settings such as inpatient psychiatric units, outpatient hospital clinics, schools and human service organizations. In her private practice, Elisabeth works with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, substance issues, relationship/marital conflict, divorce, parenting issues, grief and loss, school/career stagnation/inhibition, and maladaptive patterns of behavior. She offers individual, couples and family therapy, as well as supervision to other licensed clinicians.

Elisabeth provides individualized treatment and views the therapeutic relationship as a working collaboration. She helps clients think critically and reflectively in order better understand themselves, achieve their goals, and develop a general feeling of well being and empowerment.
