I work in midtown Manhattan with young adults and adults (primarily ages 18+, 20's, and 30's) to help reduce emotional distress, improve and deepen relationships, and explore what is causing feelings of anxiety, depression, or unhappiness. I specialize in supporting college/graduate students and young adults deal with unique stressors. Common concerns during the emerging adulthood years that I work with are transition to the workplace, career/financial pressures, fears of failure, relationship instability, self-criticism, perfectionism, difficulties with family. I provide a protected space to process painful or challenging emotions, learn coping skills, and access strengths and empowerment.
I maintain a relational psychodynamic perspective and practice, but based on my patient-centered approach I often work within the framework of other modalities to address presenting difficulties (e.g. CBT, DBT, mindfulness). I completed my graduate training at Yeshiva University, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology Clinical Psy.D. program with a focus in psychodynamic psychotherapy, and have significant experience working with individuals across a variety of treatment settings (college counseling, hospital inpatient and outpatient, VA). I have specific expertise in college counseling as I have worked for a number of years with college and graduate students at multiple universities in the tri-state area. In my private practice, I specialize in working with specific concerns that individuals face during the emerging adulthood years.
