Research suggests that paternal depression affects between 8% and 13% of fathers at some point in their lives. The highest rates of paternal depression are generally seen during the postpartum period, specifically, when the baby is 3 to 6 months born. We are a network of clinicians and researchers in the New York City area with diverse specialties, areas of expertise and training. We share a commitment to the mental health needs of women at all stages of their lives and to the clinicians who provide these services.

Physicians and researchers are becoming ever more aware of the unique emotional and psychiatric issues that women face throughout the life cycle. New therapies are being developed and tested every day, but for many women reaching out for the most up-to-the-minute help they need - and even knowing where to look - can be a difficult challenge. Many clinicians want to know where to find these specialists for consultation, referrals, and training.

Our aim is two-fold. We provide a centralized resource where women can find licensed practitioners who are best suited to their needs so that they can make informed choices about their mental health care. We provide networking, education, and support to the clinicians and researchers providing women with mental health services.

Our membership is inclusive regardless of sex, gender identity, or gender expression.
