Catherine Carota

When people come to a fork in the road around a life transition, I am open to working intensively and collaboratively to help formulate new goals and a new language for their experience. This includes life transition crises around work, relationships and family. I specialize in psychodynamic treatment with people from their late teens to mid 30's on both a short and long term basis.

I have had the privilege of enjoying a thriving private practice for 15+ years and approach my work with commitment, compassion, and confidence.

Laura Beth Kaplan

Psychiatrist, MD

Dr. Laura Beth Kaplan, M.D., is a double board-certified psychiatrist who specializes in distress related to parenting, pregnancy, and early adulthood. She treats a wide range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, role changes, and loneliness. Moreover, she has particular expertise in postpartum depression and anxiety, in prescribing psychiatric medications during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in grief related to infertility and pregnancy loss, in adjusting to parenthood, and in other mental health challenges related to women's reproductive lifecycle. Dr. Kaplan emphasizes psychotherapy alongside the thoughtful use of psychiatric medications when appropriate. Her practice centers on warm, personalized, and respectful care.

She is the Chief Clinical Service Officer and Director of Training at The Motherhood Center. Dr. Van Nortwick is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at NYU and formerly at Columbia University, where she also co-created the Women's Program Team at New York Presbyterian. Dr. Van Nortwick brings extensive experience, expertise across the lifespan, and a compassionate approach to supporting women's mental health.

Fritzi Winter

Fritzi Winter is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the R Privilege, and has a Master Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (Master CASAC) certification, maintains a private practice of psychotherapy on 95th Street and Park Avenue in New York, NY and a private office in Nyack, New York. As a psychotherapist her clinical focus is on substance use disorders/addictions, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, and depression, utilizing a relational, psychodynamic approach informed by CBT, DBT, Hypnotherapy and Supportive therapy with individuals, couples and families. Fritzi Winter earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Fordham University and DBT training through Marsha Linehan’s Behavioral Tech. Her career began as a volunteer at a local grassroots counseling service agency in Rockland County, and continued training at a Battered Women’s Shelter, became a rape crisis counselor and in tandem became Doula and learned hypnotherapy to support battered women through the birthing process. Fritzi Winter continued with her career into another local agency, The Psychoanalytic Institute of Rockland for her credential in Substance Use Disorders. Fritzi Winter's experience includes having worked 10 years at New York Presbyterian Hospital, 4 years on the Substance Use Disorder unit and 6 years on the Borderline Personality Disorder Unit. Fritzi Winter has a passion for volunteering and went on a Medical Mission in a remote village in Haiti, volunteered with the American Red Cross as Disaster Relief during Hurricane Katrina and Rita and currently Give an Hour weekly for a Veteran. Fritzi Winter is a member of Women’s Mental Health Consortium in New York City, NASW, NAADAC (Association for Addiction Professionals) CSW (Clinical Social Work Association) and IRETA (Institute for Research Education and Training in Addiction). Recently Fritzi Winter completed two years of training at the William Alanson White Institute for Eating Disorders and Compulsions.

With expertise in areas such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, identity issues, self-esteem, and support for current and former competitive athletes and survivors of intimate partner violence, Emma fosters a collaborative and empathetic therapeutic environment. Currently transitioning into private practice, she is dedicated to extending her therapeutic services to support individuals on their journeys toward insight and wholeness.
