Clinical Social Work/Therapist
I am a licensed psychotherapist and trauma therapist serving clients in-person in NYC, and virtually in New York State and Connecticut. I work with individuals and couples who want to break cycles of intense emotional reactivity that can include: aggressive acting out (openly or in secret), infidelity, uncontrollable floods of tears or fits of rage, dissociation, or complete shutdowns. I use an eclectic and relational approach where I draw from EFT, IFS, and EMDR. I work well with those who crave authenticity, want to be "called out", and need to be sure they won't be judged.
Psychologist, PhD
I am a clinical psychologist in private practice on the Upper West Side. I have 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, and couples. In my experience, the relationship between the patient and the therapist is critical to the success of treatment: Patients need to feel safe, respected, and understood in order to do the work of therapy. I strive to establish a supportive, collaborative, and honest relationship that encourages growth and change.

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist practicing remotely and in Long Island City. I'm Ivy Chim, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and somatic trauma therapist based in Brooklyn, NY. I specialize in complex trauma and childhood sexual abuse, working with women who are self-aware, have often tried therapy before, and are still finding themselves stuck in the same patterns, the same relationships, the same loneliness. My approach is somatic and relational, working with the whole person, not just their thoughts, because the body holds what the mind has tried to outrun. I follow the pace of your nervous system, building safety first, then going to the places that have never felt safe enough to visit. I trained in Somatic Experiencing, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Imago Relationship Therapy, therapeutic yoga, and breathwork. I offer individual therapy and intensive work for women ready to stop surviving and start living.
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have always loved helping others. My passion for working with people in their 20s and 30s stems from years of working with children and adolescents in schools. I’ve helped students find their own path into adulthood and see my current work as a continuation of offering that guidance and support. Previous clients describe me as very kind, empathetic, non-judgmental, and caring. Counseling is in my blood, it's all I have ever done and I feel as passionate about it today as I did when I started.
