Therapist for Friends of Firefighters, Brooklyn, NY

Friends of Firefighter is a non for profit organization dedicated to providing mental health and wellness services to FDNY firefighters and their families. They are seeking an expereinced therapist to join their team. The candidate should have expereince working with individual and couples. Group supervision will be provided once a week. In person and remote ( using Simple Practice ) availability. The fee is $40 an hour and the documentation is minimal based on a private practice model. Seeking Licensed Psychologist or LCSW for NYC women’s mental health private practice

Cognitive Therapy for Women Psychological Services (CTWPS) has an immediate opening for a full-time or part-time NYS licensed Psychologist or LCSW (Ph.D., Psy.D., LCSW) to start between January-March 2022. 

We wish to build our team with an individual who is: 

  • Excited to integrate a CBT approach with feminist psychology and best practices in women’s mental health.
  • Seeking excellent training and supervision, as well as mentorship in developing the skills and confidence needed to work successfully (and happily!) in private practice. 

CTWPS is an established and thriving group private practice in Manhattan founded by Tanya Bannister, Ph.D., a seasoned clinician mentor and cognitive-behavioral therapist. We are dedicated to providing high quality CBT to our adult female clientele. We treat a full range of mood and behavioral issues, including our subspecialty, reproductive-related mood disorders. Our mission is to expand and enhance services to best serve the diverse CTWPS community, while also mentoring a specialized group of clinicians in ethical private practice and business development. Requirements:   

  • NYS licensed Psychologist or LCSW at the time of hire (will consider limited permit psychologists)
  • Ph.D or Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology, and completion of an APA-accredited internship (or LCSW)
  • Applicants must be interested in women’s mental health, and committed to working exclusively with an adult female clientele using a CBT orientation. Must demonstrate prior training in CBT, REBT, DBT or ACT.
  • Applicants must be comfortable working with diverse presentations, multicultural issues, and LGBTQIA+ concerns.    

Preferences:  

  • We are seeking qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds and experience to support the diversity of our CTWPS community. Women of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Clinicians who bring a sense of humor, enthusiasm, warmth, and intellectual curiosity to the position are always a great fit with our team.

Postdoctoral Fellowship - Immediate Availability - Come Join Our Growing Practice!

Cognitive Therapy for Women Psychological Services (CTWPS) has an immediate opening for a one year full-time Postdoctoral Fellowship. This Fellowship fulfills all requirements for NYS psychology licensure hours, and is a wonderful option for early career psychologists interested in both women’s mental health and successful private practice building. We will consider part-time Fellowship applicants as well.

    Our Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is well-established, with a clear emphasis on women’s mental health, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mentorship around ethical and successful business practice. Graduates of our Fellowship maintain a high level of professional success and are well-prepared for a range of clinical and academic opportunities. Our strongest Fellows are typically promoted developmentally within our practice, and have established successful private practices after their tenure with us.

    Requirements:

  • Ph.D or Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology, and completion of an APA-accredited internship (will consider licensed LCSW’s)

  • The Fellow will hold a NYS limited permit to practice psychology at the time of hire.

  • Applicants must be interested in women’s mental health, and committed to working exclusively with an adult female clientele using a CBT orientation. Must demonstrate prior training in CBT, REBT, DBT or ACT.

  • Applicants must be comfortable working with diverse presentations, multicultural issues, and LGBTQIA+ concerns.

  • The Fellowship is one year in duration, with a 38 hour/week schedule across 5 weekdays.
