Anna Kismaric, LCSW, is a compassionate therapist based in Brooklyn, New York, who views therapy as a path to healing and growth. She works collaboratively with clients to help them achieve their goals, develop healthier relationships, find relief from distress, and feel more comfortable within themselves and in their life.
With extensive experience in individual and group counseling for adults, seniors, couples, and adolescents, Anna creates a safe, non-judgmental space for exploring feelings and experiences. She blends relational, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral approaches to address a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship struggles and family conflict, life transitions, self-esteem, grief, and trauma.
With specialized training in family and couples therapy, through the Ackerman Institute for the Family, Anna works with couples struggling with issues related to intimacy, communication, connection and trust. Anna helps couples identify the negative cycles of interaction they get caught in, to create greater security and closeness in their relationships and to foster deeper intimacy and clearer communication.
Anna holds specialized training in family and couples therapy from the Ackerman Institute for the Family and earned her MSW from Simmons University, along with a B.A. in Psychology from Curry College. She also has post-master’s training in CBT and TF-CBT, with certification in the Foundations of Family Therapy.
