Dr. Schraub is a New York State licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in individual therapy for adolescents and adults, and sub-specializes in women’s issues, including perinatal mood and anxiety. Dr. Schraub believes that successful therapy is largely based in the quality of the patient-therapist relationship, and employs a warm, active, and collaborative approach for her patients to reach their therapeutic goals.

Dr. Schraub received her BA in English Literature from Columbia University’s Barnard College, and her doctorate (PsyD) in psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. She completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship in clinical child, adolescent, and adult psychology at NYC Health & Hospitals Lincoln Medical Center, where she had intensive training in psychodynamic treatment, Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT), Family Based Therapy (FBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as well as specialized training in anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, neurodevelopmental disorders, personality disorders, phobias, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

After completing her predoctoral training, she completed an additional postdoctoral training at two fellowship sites. She completed a one-and-a-half-year long postdoctoral fellowship at the distinguished psychoanalytic training and treatment center - the William Alanson White Institute - where she trained intensively on relational dynamics. Dr. Schraub also completed postdoctoral work at the UWS Therapy Group, where she worked with young adults (20s and 30s) in the context of identity development and life changes. Dr. Schraub has worked in a variety of clinical settings including NYC private schools, interdisciplinary group practices, community based mental health clinics, outpatient hospital settings, and inpatient hospitals.

In her private practice, Dr. Schraub uses her multi-theoretical training background to tailor treatment to her patients individualized needs. She works to foster a safe and focused environment for her patients to understand themselves, their relationships, life/thought patterns and behaviors in order to find healthy ways to manage and, ultimately, thrive.
