Dr. Menken developed her career at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where she conducted women's groups and trained psychology interns. After developing a specialty in Maternal Mental Health, Dr. Menken co-founded The Pregnancy and Postpartum Resource Center at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Menken also serves Postpartum Support International on the Presidents Advisory Council and as the NJ Coordinator. In 2016 she founded The NJ Chahpter of Postpartum Support International. She was a member of Governor Codey's Professional Education Subcommittee on Postpartum Depression. She currently works on Maternal Mortality Review Comittee for the state of NJ.
Dr. Menken maintains private practice in Montclair, NJ, for women with mood disorders across the reproductive years. Dr. Menken teaches a Mind/Body course for infertility pateints at the St. Barnabas Hospital, LIvingston, NJ. She also offers Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster Workshop for patients anticipating any form of surgery.
Dr. Menken is co-editor and author of Perinatal and Postpartum Mood Disorders: Perspectives and Treatment Guide for the Health Care Practitioner, Springer, 2008.
