I am a New York, New Jersey, and Washington DC licensed clinical psychologist, supervisor, and doctoral professor. I work with individual adults and couples experiencing distress due to fluctuations in mood, changing life circumstances, difficult relationships, and uncertain identity. Given my own multicultural identity, I approach every patient with compassion and curiosity for their experiences, encouraging those I work with to practice the same. I find that the most successful therapy is a result of healthy collaboration, trust, and creating a safe space to do the work.
I know from firsthand experience how fragmented we can feel without reflection and self-discovery. And sometimes, we engage in the same cycles repeatedly that prevent us from living more authentically. I work with individuals to identify these cycles and more importantly, decide if and where to disrupt them to impact positive change. I draw on a sociocultural lens to understand my patients, and employ a dynamic and mindful approach in treatment. Given my emphasis on authenticity, I bring my real self to session, cheesy humor and all.
I received my PhD from Adelphi University where I am now also adjunct faculty. I teach courses related to identity and cultural differences, as well as supervise predoctoral students individually and in group. I am located in Oyster Bay, NY and also offer telehealth appointments.
