I became a therapist by way of discovering the healing power of the arts and expression. My decision to pursue a career in therapy is similar to what inspired my initial pursuit of a career in the performing arts. At its core, therapy is storytelling. As a therapist, I get the chance to provide space for a client to not only tell their story without judgement and be met with validation, but a chance to rewrite their narrative from a place of self-compassion.
I hold a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University and completed clinical hours at The Renfrew Center for Eating Disorders. My undergraduate degree is in Musical Theatre and I am passionate about helping creative/performing artist navigate a career that can often impact self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, finances, and a general sense of stuckness.
With experience in CBT, Mindfulness, and Feminist orientations, I utilize an integrative approach, with humor and curiosity, designed to meet the specific needs of the individual. Tears are welcome. Laughter is inevitable.
