Annie Bingaman is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Heart Root Counseling based in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. She offers individual talk therapy, trauma therapy and nature based therapy for adolescents and adults. Annie takes a holistic and psychodynamically oriented approach in working with clients. Pulling from her training in trauma informed yoga, Annie incorporates mindfulness strategies and deep breathing exercises into therapy sessions. She enjoys helping clients integrate these practices into daily life.
Annie works from an attachment-based and polyvagal-informed lens, specializing in the issues that impact female and queer-identifying clients. She holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University with additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), sensorimotor psychotherapy and ecotherapy. Annie focuses on supporting folks navigating: life transitions, grief, stress and anxiety, career burnout, chronic illness, relationship issues, disordered eating habits and negative body image. She works with adolescents (15+) as well as college students, young adults (20s and 30s), creatives and helping professionals. Annie sees clients at Heart Root Counseling's office in Croton-on-Hudson, online (Telhealth), and outdoors for those interested in exploring the benefits of nature-based healing.
