In the humanistic tradition of lay psychoanalysis I bring a background in literature, theatre, the performing and written arts to my therapeutic work. My path led from an AB in Honors English from Cornell Universtity to a Ph.D. in Dramatic Art from UC Berkeley, teaching at CUNY-Lehman College and, ultimately to Certification in Psychotherapy from Washington Square Institute and licensing as a psychoanalyst from NPAP. I have contributed articles to The Psychoanalytic Review and I am a member of its Editorial Board. I also have studied dance therapy, drama therapy and EMDR.

My clinical approach is relational, psychodynamic, eclectic and tailored to each individual's specific needs. I strive to create an environment of safety and trust, whatever the person's cultural background, sexual or gender orientation, professional or work issues, learning styles or challenges, and, of course, emotional / relational issues.
