Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years experience working with teenagers and young adults. Being a teenager or a young adult right now can be challenging. Between school, work, friendships, family relationships, future pressure, and just trying to figure out who you are, it is incredibly easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or just disconnected. If you are tired of people telling you to "just stop overthinking" or "just relax," you are in the right place. Perhaps you are a parent watching your teen struggle to handle stress and you want some help for your teen. If so, you are in the right place.
I run a fully virtual therapy practice to teens ages 12-17 and to young adults ages 18-26. My practice is judgement free and allows you to take charge of your own therapy experience. Because we meet online, you can join from the comfort of your room, in a space where you already feel safe.
Clients have often told me that I "keep it real", and I believe that this is the key to developing trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship, which naturally culminates in you achieving your goals.
Therapy works best when it is a true collaboration. I am not here to tell you what to do, how to feel, or how to live your life. You are the expert on you which means you get to choose the goals that matter to you and the pace at which we move. If a specific exercise or coping tool does not feel right to you, we drop it and try something else. There is no right or wrong way to do this, and you call the shots.
I combine aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Somatic (body-based) practices. This dual approach ensures we aren't just talking about problems, but actually changing how the brain and body process them. Together, we can calm constant overthinking and the physical dread that comes with it. We can develop ways to navigate the days when you feel unmotivated, angry or sad. We can learn actionable grounding techniques to release physical tension and calm panic responses. We can help your mind and body heal from painful experiences. We can build sustainable boundaries for school, work, social media, and relationships. You will leave your sessions with real skills you can use right away.
Our initial session will be 60-90 minutes. During our initial session, we will get to know each other. You will tell me what you think is important for me to know about you and I will tell you a bit more about my approach to therapy. We will discuss what brought you to therapy and begin to co-create a plan to help you feel better.
We will then schedule a reoccurring time for our sessions. Ongoing sessions will be 45-60 minutes, depending on what is agreed upon.
If you are under 18, the initial session will start with both you and your parent/guardian together. I will then meet with you alone.
Lets connect for a free 15 minute consultation. You can reach me at (347)- 625 8438 or book a consultation through my website. I will not be able to respond to email inquiries. Parents and teens are welcome to reach out together.
