I graduated from The National Institute for the Psychotherapies 4 year adult analytic program, as well as receiving my Masters Degree in Drama Therapy from New York University. I graduated with a BA in Theatre from Brown University.
Before starting my private practice, I worked as a psychotherapist in a variety of settings. These included: an outpatient clinic in Brooklyn called Community Counseling and Mediation (working with children in foster care, people with substance abuse issues, bipolar disorder, and patients with PTSD), a school based mental health program at P.S 30 in East Harlem (using creative arts therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with elementary, middle, and high school students), and working as a Child Life Specialist at Hackensack University Medical Center.
My belief is that everyone can use some support in order to have a more fulfilling and satisfying career and social life. Through collaboration and building trust I help my patients to recognize problematic behavioral and relationship patterns, and to understand the link between childhood issues and one's current problems. Some of my specialties include: working with women's mental health issues, depression, anxiety (panic attacks), trauma, people affected by addiction, and working with people in creative fields.
I hold 2 licenses in New York State: I am both a Licensed Psychoanalyst (LP) and a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT). In addition to my psychoanalytic and creative arts therapy training, I also completed a 1 year training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for children and adolescents.
