Deana Capozziello is a New York City based psychotherapist who specializes in working with adults and college aged individuals with trauma, negative life events, life transitions, depression and anxiety. She is LGBTQ+ affirmative.

Deana's approach is grounded in Psychodynamic Relational Psychotherapy and incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) skills when it is useful for her clients. Deana also specializes in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help her clients to no longer be impacted by traumatic experiences and relationships. She is interested in helping people understand the impact that family, social and intimate relationships have on their daily life. While Deana generally does not target specific symptoms, individuals experience symptom reduction and change throughout the course of treatment.

Deana has been drawn to people and their stories throughout her life. Her first professional experiences were in the art world due to her fascination with the visual expression of limitless topics. During that time she realized that she loved speaking with the artists about what they were expressing in their work and hearing how others understood the pieces. Deana is passionate about hearing people's unique life stories and watching the changes people experience through the work. Deana received her MSW from New York University and her MA for Psychology and Substance Abuse Counseling from New School University.
