Dr. Alexandra Silverman is a New York State-licensed clinical psychologist dedicated to helping clients navigate life's most challenging moments with compassion, insight, and evidence-based care. Her clinical focus spans anxiety and mood disorders, eating disorders and body image concerns, life transitions, trauma, and relationship difficulties — working with preteens, teens, adults, and couples.
Dr. Silverman offers both virtual and in-person sessions, with office locations in downtown Manhattan and Northport, Long Island.
Dr. Silverman practices from an integrative therapeutic model, thoughtfully weaving together psychodynamic, relational, and somatic approaches with structured, skills-based frameworks including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This flexible, client-centered approach allows her to tailor treatment to each individual's unique history, personality, and goals.
Dr. Silverman earned her doctoral degree from Pace University, where she pursued dual training in both school and clinical psychology — a foundation that gives her particular insight into the developmental and academic pressures facing younger clients. Her clinical training includes experience across inpatient, outpatient, and school-based settings. She has also pursued specialized training in the treatment of eating disorders and body image issues.
