Dr. Emily Kaiser is a licensed clinical psychologist in New York and New Jersey who specializes in trauma, PTSD, and related concerns such as anxiety, substance use, and chronic pain. She provides evidence-based treatment in a space that is both supportive and collaborative. Her approach combines warmth and respect with transparency and encouragement, helping clients feel safe while also empowered to make meaningful change.

Dr. Kaiser works primarily from a cognitive-behavioral orientation, drawing on her training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has expertise in gold-standard treatments for PTSD, including Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She tailors these methods to each client, whether the focus is on building coping skills or working through painful memories.

Dr. Kaiser earned her PsyD from the PGSP–Stanford PsyD Consortium and trained at leading institutions including the James J. Peters Bronx VA Hospital, Palo Alto VA Medical Center, and Stanford’s Addiction Medicine Dual Diagnosis Clinic. In addition to private practice, she is a staff psychologist at the Center for Motivation and Change, where she specializes in trauma and co-occurring substance use. Her work is guided by a belief that therapy should be both compassionate and practical, offering space for deep understanding alongside strategies for lasting growth.
