I work with adults facing obstacles in their relationships, work, and education. These obstacles may be feeling stuck; general unhappiness; sadness; high anxiety; anger; low motivation; confusion; and difficulty adjusting after a disappointment, failure, or loss. My approach to therapy is informed by psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapies.
To address my clients' concerns, I work with individuals and couples to improve self-awareness, coping skills, management of thoughts and feelings, and communication skills. I also strive to utilize strengths, creativity, and personal resources to improve overall satisfaction, resilience, and well-being.
I have additional expertise in the adjustment process to life changing medical illnesses; coaching for family members of individuals with a severe mental illness, and issues related to family building (infertility; miscarriage; first pregnancies; postpartum depression; single parents by choice; egg/sperm donor recipiency).
