Elizabeth Candela, MA, LMSW, is a New York and New Jersey licensed social worker. She obtained her master's degree in Social Work from New York University, her master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, and her bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies from Wesleyan University. Prior to becoming a therapist, her professional experience was in commercial design, photography, and consulting on business strategy for architecture.

Ms. Candela has extensive experience working with individuals and loved ones impacted by substance and behavioral addictions, and a special interest in women's health, including infertility. She helps people with interpersonal challenges, self-esteem, identity, anxiety, and trauma. Ms. Candela has worked with folks through focused short term, and longer-term depth psychotherapy, depending on the client's need. She utilizes several therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic, accelerated experiential dyadic processing (AEDP - Level 1 trained), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT). She is LGBTQ+-affirming, sex-positive, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive.

With a belief that strong relationships can foster meaningful change and growth, Ms. Candela tailors her approach to each individual. She aims to provide an accepting and judgement-free space to work in collaboration and explore how to create the life that her clients want. She welcomes clients from all backgrounds and life experiences.
