Elizabeth Candela, MA, LMSW, is a New York and New Jersey licensed social worker. She obtained her Master's degree in Social Work from New York University, her master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, and her Bachelor's degree in American Studies from Wesleyan University. Prior to becoming a therapist, her professional experience included a career as a graphic designer, photographer and strategist for architecture.

Elizabeth has experience working with individuals and families impacted by substance and behavioral addictions, and has a special interest in reproductive health, including childlessness and infertility. She helps individuals and couples with interpersonal challenges, self-esteem, identity, anxiety, and trauma through focused short term, and longer-term depth psychotherapy. She utilizes several therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic, accelerated experiential dyadic processing (AEDP - Level 1 trained), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT). She is LGBTQ+-affirming, sex-positive, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive.

Elizabeth works with individuals and couples, and believes that strong relationships can foster meaningful change and growth and tailors her approach to each individual and couple. She aims to provide an accepting and judgement-free space to work in collaboration and explore how to create the life that her clients want. Elizabeth welcomes clients from all backgrounds and life experiences.
