I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice, and am also an Instructor in Psychiatry at NYU Langone Medical Center. I have great interest in working with people coping with a variety of life issues as well as personal and professional transitions. In particular, I specialize in working with people who express psychological stress and emotions through their bodies. This can include eating/ body image issues, anxiety, and reactions to past and/or present trauma. Effective psychotherapy involves an integrated focus on one's past and present. We unknowingly repeat relational patterns that begin early in our lives, and I view the therapeutic relationship as a way of understanding conscious and unconscious ways of relating. While I remain firmly grounded in empirically driven technique, I tailor my approach to each person's unique needs. I aim to provide a safe, supportive, interactive yet challenging space that encourages insight and deep, meaningful change.
