I am a clinical psychologist with over twenty years of experience as a psychotherapist. I work with adults at every stage of the lifespan. My practice specializations are helping people heal from the impact of mothers who can't love; bereavement and loss; early adult transitions; and stress management and work/life balance for lawyers and other professionals. I am also certified in EMDR, a technique that promotes the healing of trauma, PTSD, grief, phobias and performance anxiety.
I see individual adults from 18 and up and run short-term groups for women with toxic mothers. I have also been supervising pre-licensed psychologists and offer supervisory services as well as psychotherapy.
I draw from my training as a psychoanalyst. My treatment style is interactive and pragmatic. I see psychotherapy as a collaborative process through which to examine the influence of early experience on personality, relationship patterns and current stressful situations. I also focus on the therapeutic relationship for further understanding and support. Through the self-understanding gained through these processes, people are ultimately able to become their own therapists.
I have seen many people through personal transformations that result in self-confidence, improved relationships and careers and richer, more satisfying lives. People who work with me often comment that I am compassionate, easy to talk to about difficult concerns and a good listener. I respect my patients and am nonjudgmental about their problems. I am passionate about my work and consider it an honor and a privilege to facilitate people on their journeys.
