Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, MPH, PMH-C
I am a licensed clinical social worker with my certification in perinatal mental health. I provide affirming and social justice-oriented supportive care to individual clients in New York. I am an active therapist with a pragmatic, client-centered approach to my work. I believe in tailoring my approach to each client's unique needs, recognizing that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor. Depending on the client's presenting concerns, I draw from a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients meet their goals and make positive changes. I like to cultivate a safe holding space for everyone I work with to express their feelings freely and without judgment.
In addition, I bring a strength-based and trauma-informed perspective to my practice, acknowledging the systemic forces that impact individuals' mental health. By understanding how these larger social and cultural dynamics influence our well-being, I strive to create a supportive and empowering environment where clients can explore their experiences and cultivate resilience.
I find fulfillment in working with a diverse range of clients, each bringing their own unique experiences and challenges. With my certification in perinatal mental health from Postpartum Support International, I am particularly drawn to supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and OCD during pregnancy and postpartum. I am dedicated to expanding my expertise in this area and providing compassionate care to perinatal clients seeking support during this transformative time.
Additionally, I have a deep passion for working with LGBTQ populations, offering affirming and inclusive therapy for individuals exploring their sexual identity and navigating the coming-out process. Creating a sex-positive environment, I am committed to fostering a safe and supportive space where clients can explore and celebrate their authentic selves.
