I am a psychotherapist with 25 years of experience in the NYC area working with diverse adult clinical populations. In my private practice, I work with overwhelmed adults ready to let go of shame and treat themselves with compassion, including those navigating complex mental health, substance use, neurodivergence, or 2e parenting.
I believe therapy should feel human, not clinical. It works best when it honors your full humanity. Not just your symptoms, diagnoses, or "coping skills," but you, with your contradictions, brilliance, baggage, and all. Some therapy hands you shame instead of support. That’s not my style.
My job isn’t to tell you who you should be. It’s to create a space where you can show up fully, say the thing you’re maybe afraid to say, and still be met with respect and curiosity. I have many “therapy tools” at my disposal (harm reduction, IFS, DBT, psychodynamic, CBT, executive functioning support), but good therapy is not about forcing you to fit a model, it’s about using whatever helps you most. Sometimes the most powerful part of therapy isn’t the method. It’s the moment you realize you have been heard.
