My name is Erin Eastwood and I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 12 years of experience providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. My approach is trauma-informed and holistic, integrating somatic techniques, psychodynamic principles, and evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I specialize in exploring intergenerational patterns of attachment, anxiety, and depression, helping my clients navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience and self-awareness.

Areas of Clinical Focus

Perinatal Mental Health -- The journey to parenthood is rarely straightforward, and for many, it brings unexpected emotional challenges. I support individuals and couples navigating infertility, IVF, egg and sperm donation, and adoption, helping them process the complex emotions that arise along the way. I also work with new parents who may be struggling to bond with their baby, experiencing unexpected emotions, or noticing early childhood experiences resurfacing in parenthood. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where parents can explore these feelings, gain clarity, and build meaningful connections with their children.

Grief and Loss -- Grief takes many forms, and I help clients process loss in all its complexities—whether it’s the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship or career, early childhood losses, or medical trauma. I understand that healing from loss is not about “moving on” but about finding ways to integrate grief into life in a way that allows for growth and renewal. Using a combination of therapeutic approaches, I work alongside my clients to help them navigate their grief with compassion and resilience.

Adolescence and Young Adulthood -- The transition from adolescence to adulthood can be a period of uncertainty, growth, and self-discovery. I help teens and young adults navigate the challenges of identity formation, academic and career pressures, relationships, and mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression. My approach is rooted in creating a space where young people feel heard, validated, and empowered to build confidence and resilience as they step into adulthood.

Trauma Recovery -- Trauma can deeply impact emotions, relationships, and overall well-being. I specialize in helping clients process and heal from early childhood adversity, medical and birth trauma, and sexual assault. I use a combination of somatic and evidence-based therapies to help clients reconnect with their bodies, process difficult emotions, and move toward healing. My goal is to provide a sense of safety and empowerment, allowing clients to reclaim their stories and rebuild a sense of control in their lives.

Beyond Psychotherapy -- In addition to my clinical work, I have worked in policy development for the City of New York, focusing on initiatives that support families with young children experiencing homelessness. This experience has given me a deep understanding of systemic challenges and informs my holistic approach to mental health care. I am passionate about bridging individual therapy with a broader awareness of the social factors that impact well-being, ensuring that my clients receive comprehensive and compassionate support.
