It's better if you can keep your head, remain thoughtful, know your own truth during an emotional storm. The times are such that folks dip in and out of a rolling panic. That's bad news for your body and ultimately destructive for you and others. Whether you've survived one identifiable financial or emotional crisis or feel swamped by a diffuse negativity, there is hope for change. Once you understand your history, your nervous system, and your hormones, ease and connection come next. Put my 20 years of experience with overwhelming emotion in your back pocket. Come for three sessions, stay for a decade. Up to you.
We are going to slow down. A fine grain knowledge of the mind, heart and body in fear, flight or freeze comes on cat feet bit by bit. We will ease the shame around the overwhelm. Our conversations will develop new connections between your feelings and your thoughts. The pathway to anger or panic can be replaced by an avenue of expression and self-assertion.
When the emotions feel huge and inevitable, it can be difficult to imagine that a conversation will help. Feels like clearing a snow bank with a spoon. I'm sure you've tried many ways of solving this. Let's add in a couple more stances and skills. Maybe some tenderness and humor too.
