My Midwest upbringing helps create a warm, supportive approach to cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy in midtown Manhattan. I received my doctoral degree from Columbia University and my bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin. As a licensed psychologist, I combine a unique mind-body and cognitive-behavioral approach to help individuals and couples build the coping skills and emotional resilience needed to face life challenges and transitions and emotional issues such as mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety and panic disorder, loss and bereavement, and relationship problems. As a sub-specialist in reproductive health issues, I seek to assist individuals and couples in coping with reproductive challenges they may face such as infertility, decisions regarding use of donor gametes in family building, pregnancy loss, pregnancy termination due to fetal anomaly, high risk pregnancy, and postpartum reactions, as well as relationship and parenting issues. My goal is that people will leave our sessions together feeling empowered and prepared to meet their life challenges with vigor and vitality as well as new and strengthened coping skills.
