Healy Smith, MD is an adult psychiatrist. Since 2006, she has worked in private practice and has been on faculty at Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital, teaching and supervising in the women’s mental health clinic.

She treats men and women, but her first specialty and passion is in women’s mental health and reproductive psychiatry- treating women in emotional distress at various stages in the reproductive life cycle. This includes pre-pregnancy, infertility, pregnancy, and postpartum, as well as severe PMS, PMDD, and perimenopause.

Her second speciality, which she incorporates to the degree her patients are interested, is in integrative and holistic medicine. She strives to understand each individual in their complexity, and to identify root causes of their symptoms. She then works collaboratively with her patients to address symptoms and restore balance through nutrition, lifestyle, and the targeted use of supplements, in addition to traditional pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy.

Dr. Smith focuses on treating people with mood and anxiety disorders, as well as ADHD, utilizing pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and integrative and holistic tools. She also works with people tapering off psychiatric medication, with people who are highly sensitive, and with people focused on optimizing their health and well-being. She treats patients in NY, PA, and NJ, and is currently working primarily via telemedicine. She is out-of-network with insurance but provides an invoice that can be submitted for out-of-network reimbursement.

She received her undergraduate degree from Brown University, and her M.D. from UCLA where she also completed her psychiatry residency. She completed a reproductive psychiatry fellowship at Weill Cornell NY Presbyterian Hospital, as well as an integrative psychiatry fellowship through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. She is board certified in Psychiatry, and in Integrative and Holistic Medicine. She lectures and is published in the fields of reproductive psychiatry and integrative psychiatry.
