Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW-R
I am a warm, dynamic, Individual, Marital and Family therapist trained at the Ackerman Institute For the Family, with over 30 years of experience working with children, adults and couples. From 1988 until April 2002, I worked on the adolescent and adult inpatient units at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy which is an evidence based effective, supportive and hopeful modality with couples. EFT focuses on identifying and changing the "negative cycles" that couples get stuck in, helps heal attachment injuries to help the couple find their way back to the loving and trusting relationship they once shared, or still yearn for.
I have expertise in treating adults and children with ADHD, Mood Disorders, anxiety, trauma, relational issues, family conflict and attachment injuries. My practice locations are in Hewlett, NY in Nassau County, and Manhattan.
As a Family Systems therapist, I use the family genogram to explore individual, family, and inter-generational patterns, family roles and beliefs, as well as the influence of family of origin on the present. Every individual has their own unique story to tell. My goal is to help my clients identify their strengths, break free of negative patterns, and create a more expansive narrative to find happier more meaningful lives.
