Description of Practice/Services Offered

I am a warm, dynamic,  Individual, Couples and Family Systems therapist trained at the Ackerman Institute For the Family, with over 25  years of experience working with adolescents, adults and couples.  From 1988 until April 2002, I worked on the adolescent and adult inpatient units at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in various capacities including research and Field Instructor.   I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy which is an evidence based, supportive and strength based modality with couples. EFT focuses on identifying and changing the "negative cycles" that couples get stuck in, to help  couples learn to communicate their needs and feelings more effectively and empathically, which creates greater intimacy and trust. 

I have expertise in treating adults and children with ADHD, Mood Disorders, Anxiety, Trauma, relational issues, family conflict and attachment injuries using various modalities.   My practice locations are in Hewlett, NY in Nassau County, and Manhattan.

As a Family Systems and EFT therapist, I use the family genogram to explore  individual, family, and inter-generational patterns, attachment injuries, values  as well as the influence of family of origin issues on the client in the present.  Every individual  has their own unique story to tell.  My goal is to help my clients identify their strengths, understand and challenge negative patterns and beliefs, and create a more expansive narrative to achieve happier more meaningful lives.
