Janet earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University, where she was a fellow with the McSilver Institute Integrated Youth Behavioral Health Project. She received intensive postgraduate training in couples and family therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family in New York City. She also has training in multiple therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Processing Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She also has advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through the Seleni Institute in New York City.
Janet specializes in working with emerging adults, women, couples, and families. She is particularly passionate about supporting families through major life cycle changes, ranging from the transition into parenthood through the complexities of the teen years. Janet’s therapeutic style is eclectic and collaborative, guided by relational theories and evidence-based treatments. She believes that effective therapy should be a collaborative partnership where we spend time building trust with one another and tailoring treatment to your specific needs. Her approach promotes deep introspection, empathy, and personal growth.
