Jennifer M. Haus

I am a licensed clinical social worker with special interests in the following areas:

- substance abuse and addiction

- anxiety and depression

- chronic pain, cancer and grief

- wellness and mind-body therapy

My education  includes a master's degree from New York University School of Social Work.  I received supervision from Washington Square Institute where  I provided psychodynamic therapy to adult individuals.  During my years at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, I worked with teens and adults in the outpatient programs for Multiple Sclerosis  and Chronic Pain while receiving clinical supervision for my LCSW.  Additionally, I  have been a clinical supervisor for MSW students. 

My approach to working with clients is based on honesty, safety and respect.  Therapy is a mutual relationship between the client and professional practitioner.    In my office, problems and issues are discussed in a respectful and non-judgmental way with the goal of finding healthy coping techniques and beneficial outcomes. 

I have a solid understanding of addiction and substance abuse, including the treatments of  harm reduction and abstinence approaches, include 12 steps. 

My wellness training enables me to teach individuals how to lower stress and chronic pain through guided imagery, hypnosis and meditation.
