As a Gestalt Therapist I offer a holistic, mindful, and integrative experience so that you can feel better and make changes to improve the quality of your life. Gestalt Therapy is a client-centered therapy that focuses on the present. This means that my priority is to listen to you and to understand what is happening to you in the moment. From there we can explore what is causing you to struggle, to feel discomfort or pain, or to feel stuck.
In addition to being a Gestalt Therapist I was trained as a Multicultural Counselor. I can help you to understand how all aspects of your identity inform how you see and engage with yourself and the people in your life. I work with individuals from diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
I am trained in and utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to alleviate the distress that is associated with traumatic memories. Some are small traumas during our lifetime, others are larger traumas over our lifetime, and some traumas are a single event that has changed the course of our life.
Although I work with all types of people who are facing all types of issues, my specialties include working with Trauma, Highly Sensitive People, Women's Issues and Maternal Mental Health (Life transitions, Relationship issues, Financial issues, Body image, Disordered eating, Abortion, Pregnancy related issues including Perinatal and Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Miscarriage, Stillbirth, or Neonatal death), Grief and Loss (including Complicated Grief), Shame, and Identity related issues.
With my use of multiple approaches, I provide services that are individualized to your specific needs.
