Dr. January Massin is a New York State Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in addiction, mood disorders and developmental transitions characteristic of young adulthood and midlife. She conducts individual, couples and group psychotherapies. Dr. Massin is also a clinical associate of The New School for Social Research.

Before starting her private practice, Dr. Massin was a supervising psychologist at Mount Sinai Hospital and an appointed faculty member at The Icahn School of Medicine.

Dr. Massin received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The New School for Social Research. She has a B.A. from Barnard College where she graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors. 

Dr. Massin completed her formal post-doctoral training at Mount Sinai Hospital through The Center for Intensive Treatment of Personality Disorders and The Addiction Institute of New York.

Grounded in a psychodynamic approach, Dr. Massin may focus on areas such as exploring longstanding patterns in order to uncover more adaptive and satisfying ways of being. She also employs cognitive reframing and suggests techniques for behavioral change if appropriate.

Dr. January Massin is best known by patients and colleagues for her authenticity and natural ease at establishing a genuine connection while at the same time being appropriately challenging.
