I am a psychologist, psychotherapist, author and writing coach. My new book, a hybrid integrating my memoir with an exploration of the mother-daughter relationshipThe Girl in the Red Boots: Making Peace with My Mother, will be published in May 2021. I've previously published a book about eating and body image disorders, A Starving Madness: Tales of Hunger, Hope and Healing in Psychotherapy and a book about divorce, Befriending Your Ex After Divorce: Making Life Better for You Your Kids and Yes, Your Ex.
I am in private practice in New York City where I see individuals, families, couples and groups; I run a consultation group for mental health professionals treating eating and body image disorders and I also coach therapists in personal and professional writing projects.
