Judith Shatzky

I am an LCSW working in direct practice for over 10 years throughout New York City, and more recently have made the transition to private practice. I obtained my social work degree in 2011, and have had the opportunity to work with multiple populations, including immigrant families needing couples and family counseling, people dealing with substance use, and people mandated to mental health care. Now as a private practice therapist, my goal is to establish a foundation of supportive and trusting relationships with the adults I meet to help them with their goals. While this might mostly involve talk therapy, I am also interested in how art, music, and movement can be incorporated to support clients' growth.  I am completing a certification in Gestalt therapy from Gestalt Associates in 2022, and feel excited about how this style has helped me to develop a powerful relational approach and improve my skills as a therapist. I am interested in working with women in their 20's who are  making the transition to adulthood and learning to value themselves, as well as women considering or in the process of family planning, in whatever form feels right for them. I currently see clients for telehealth, but have an office space and am interested in offering in-person therapy to clients as well.
