I am a licensed clinical social worker now based in New York, but I originally come from the south! Hailing from Atlanta, GA, I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Georgia then headed over to the University of Texas at Austin for my Master's of Social Work (MSW) where I then began my clinical career.
In Austin I gained experience working in the inpatient and outpatient level of care with a range of populations from children and adolescents to adults and older generations. I started off in the inpatient psychiatric hospital as a group therapist and I also frequently assisted with the DBT focused Partial Hospitalization Program as well as the Intensive Outpatient Program. Following my time in hospital work, I transitioned to private practice and was employed at Grace Therapy & Wellness where I saw adolescents and young adults for individual therapy. I have since made a move to New York City and work at Tate Psychotherapy in person and online seeing clients both in NY and TX!
I consider myself a relational therapist and value forming meaningful and empowering relationships with my clients by allowing them to take things at their own pace. Clients have described me as warm, supportive, and genuine and I do my best to foster a space that is always nonjudgmental and inviting. Whether I sit with someone while they cry or join them in laughter, I am right alongside my clients for whatever their needs might be that day! I believe that therapy can at times be hard but is also fun, transformative, healing and exciting and I'm eager to be a part of that journey with others.
