Julia de Roulet is a Marriage and Family Therapist with licensure in New York and California. She sees clients in-person in Locust Valley, New York, and over Zoom. In her private practice, she specializes in addressing disordered eating, food complexes, and anxiety for individuals ages 15 and older. Julia’s work is deeply informed by her Master’s thesis, “A Depth-Psychological Exploration of Food Complexes: Origins in Disrupted Attachment and Treatment in Psychotherapy,” completed at Pacifica Graduate Institute, where she earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology.

Julia’s therapeutic approach blends the insights of depth psychotherapy, which explores the unconscious dimensions of the individual and collective, with practical interventions drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). This integrative method allows her to offer clients a non-judgmental space to explore their relationships with food, body, and self, while addressing underlying emotional and psychological patterns.

Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Columbia University, which enriches her perspective on the cultural and symbolic dimensions of human experience. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the San Francisco Chapter of CAMFT, the UCSF Women’s Mental Health Consortium, the Women’s Mental Health Consortium, and the Alumni Associations of both Columbia University and Pacifica Graduate Institute.
