Kate Kirschner (LMSW) is a psychotherapist with a passion for supporting individuals and families as they navigate the journey through parenthood. Kate takes an integrative approach to working with individuals and families as they transition to parenthood, weathering pregnancy and pregnancy loss, infertility, birth complications, and postpartum depression and anxiety. She also works with parents and caregivers throughout the life course, from infancy and toddlerhood through childhood, adolescence, to addressing parents' evolving relationship with adult children. Kate is trained in perinatal mental health, Somatic Experiencing, and is a Level I trained Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist. She also offers Parenting Coaching and runs groups for new moms and for the parents of young children. Previously, Kate worked at The Bridge Project, a guaranteed income program for pregnant and new mothers living in poverty in New York City, and at GABI at Montefiore Hospital, an attachment-based intervention to preserve families and prevent child maltreatment. Prior to NYU, Kate spent nearly two decades working in the American theatre, and holds an MFA from Carnegie Mellon University.
