Katie Down, (LCAT, MT-BC, MMT, MM )is a trauma-informed psychotherapist, Licensed Creative Arts therapist, Music Therapist, and sound healing practitioner. She has certifications in EMDR, MBSR, Deep Listening, and Reiki and runs workshops in sound, music therapy, and meditation. Her space in the Hudson Valley, The SoundWell Barn, offers workshops, concerts, retreats, and healing sessions. She is also co-director for the Arts and Wellbeing Gathering, a consortium of artists and healing arts practitioners. Katie completed her training in music psychotherapy at NYU and went on to post-graduate trainings in EMDR levels 1-3 with Laurel Parnell, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction with Paulette Graf, Deep Listening through the Deep Listening Intitute, and Reiki levels 1 -2 through You Can Thive and Maha Rose. Katie has been a regular guest lecturer at NYU, The School of Visual Arts, Hofstra University, Cal State Fullerton, Vassar College, SUNY New Paltz, Manhattan College, and at grand rounds through Jamaica Hospital, Bronx Psychiatirc, and Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. She provides on-going clinical supervision for music therapists and other creative arts therapists, and is currently offering individual psychotherapy and EMDR remotely and in person.
