Kim Brenner, LCSW is a psychotherapist in private practice in Westport, Connecticut, where she works with adults struggling with eating disorders, body image concerns, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. She is licensed in both Connecticut and New York.
Kim is a Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine, where she teaches and supervises psychiatry residents, postdoctoral fellows, and doctoral trainees. Prior to entering full-time private practice, she served as the Eating Disorder Coordinator at Yale Mental Health & Counseling, providing clinical care, supervision, consultation, and campus-wide education on eating disorders.
Her clinical approach is integrative, drawing from psychodynamic, relational, cognitive behavioral, acceptance based, and somatic perspectives. She has a particular interest in helping individuals understand the deeper emotional and relational patterns that contribute to their struggles while also developing practical tools for change.
Kim completed postgraduate fellowship training at Yale and is currently in analytic training at the Westchester Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. She is passionate about teaching, mentoring clinicians, and creating spaces for thoughtful clinical dialogue. She enjoys collaborating with colleagues who are interested in psychodynamic psychotherapy, eating disorder treatment, and the integration of insight oriented and evidence based approaches
