I view therapy as an empowering experience in which each individual seeks treatment for unique needs and concerns, and through therapy, is given the space and time to consider and reflect upon the best courses of action. Because of this, I tailor treatment to each person and offer a varied approach to psychotherapy, dependent upon one’s needs, that includes psychodynamic, trauma-focused, cognitive-behavioral and somatic psychotherapies. I understand the inherent resiliency of each person and assist individuals with connecting to their strengths and desires.
I work from a relational perspective, meaning I understand that the therapeutic relationship is of great value and the platform from which all change occurs. With this in mind, I create an awareness in session about what transpires between myself and the individual and use these interactions as a vehicle for change. This allows a space for mindfulness and an ability to develop insight and awareness about why one experiences particular feelings and navigates life in a particular manner.
