I see therapy as a process of unfolding creative intimacy in which two people work closely together to generate new possibilities for feeling, thinking, and being. Whether you’re seeking relief from anguish, greater ease, deeper connections, or increased vibrancy, I offer a keen listening presence and curious, attuned company.
My approach is psychoanalytic, meaning I work with people to unearth the hidden roots of their struggles and to explore ways in which past traumas and inner conflicts trouble the present. Over time, detailed study of a life can yield not only insight, but also relief from psychic pain and the capacity to live with more passion, imagination, and zest.
My practice is informed by a belief in the liberatory potential of examining one’s internal experience within a variety of frames, ranging from the immediate to the unconscious, the familial to the world-historical. I welcome patients of all backgrounds and bring thoughtful attention to issues of identity, power, and belonging.
