I recieved my masters degree in social work from Columbia University and spent my early career working in a psychiatric setting. When relocating to the US after several years working overseas, I accepted a temporary position working in a hospital labor and delivery and postpartum unit. That temporary position lasted thirteen years, and it was there that I discovered my passion for working with families grieving reproductive losses.
Initially I worked with families in crisis at the time of the loss and accompanied them through diagnosis, decision making and the earliest stages of grief. I learned from my patients what follow up was needed and expanded to include individual and couples counseling, a wide range of support groups, wellness programming, memory making and rituals around important milestones. As the program grew, I began to teach nurses and residents the best practices for working with grieving families and to speak at both national and international conferences and other hospitals.
After decades of hospital based work, I have pivoted to private practice. My focus and passion remains the same- working with families who experience any kind of reproductive loss. I help individuals, couples and groups begin to heal from stillbirth, neonatal death, miscarriage, TFMR, and infertility challenges. I also work with them to process and cope with the anxiety and other challenges that often accompany subsequent pregnancies.
