My name is Leyla Fonseca, and I’m a licensed therapist based in New York. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults who are navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, and autism spectrum disorder. I am passionate about supporting individuals as they build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and gain greater confidence in themselves. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where growth feels possible.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and rooted in building a trusting relationship, as beginning therapy can feel vulnerable. I work to create a space where clients feel safe and supported in their individual process. In our sessions, some clients find comfort in open-ended talk therapy, while others benefit from more structured tools, such as exercises or “homework.” Most often, clients prefer both. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand how their thoughts and feelings influence their behaviors, and we work together to develop strategies for managing emotional challenges. I believe in empowering clients to explore their options and make their own informed choices, fostering autonomy and self-awareness.
