Mental Health Counselor, LMHC
Mental Health Counselor
My name is Lindsay Hayden and I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in working with individuals and couples who struggle with addiction, anxiety, relational issues and self-esteem.
I found myself after 10 years working in fashion, feeling more curious about the inner workings of my mind and the minds of my colleagues and friends than I was about designing clothes. My experience in a fast-paced, high-stress work environment informs my practice in many ways, knowing first hand the struggle to find balance and happiness. My personal life experiences and background in addiction counseling and 12-step programs provide me with unique insight into substance use and the many unhealthy coping mechanisms that we look to when seeking an escape from the challenges or tedium of reality.
I take an action oriented approach and use Cognitive Behavioral Techniques (CBT) as well as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to help my clients improve their lives and discover life-changing skills. Often I find that we do that work at the beginning so that we can get to what's underneath. I very much enjoy working with couples and helping individuals to feel lighter, more confident, and more satisfied on a daily basis.
