Olivia Tursi

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, in practice since 2008, and the founder of Firefly Therapy, a group practice specializing in violence against women. I have extensive experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence; helping them to recover and rebuild after the trauma they have endured. I operate from a feminist perspective and utilize my genuine, kind-hearted nature to create an atmosphere of acceptance and empowerment. Clients will find that sessions are productive, engaging, and quite often include some laughter mixed in! My desire to help others, and my passion for empowering women and girls to realize their full potential, was my incentive for the creation of Firefly Therapy in 2017.

I earned my first master’s degree in Psychology from Hofstra University and my second master’s degree in Social Welfare from Stony Brook University. I developed my trauma expertise through her decade-long tenure at a local domestic violence and rape crisis center, where I held clinical, educational, and managerial roles. While I specialize in working with this population, I do work with the general public as well.

​I am a well-versed speaker on the topics of domestic and sexual violence. I have presented to student and professional audiences throughout the NYC and Long Island area, and have given a national webinar for the Office of Violence Against Women on trauma-informed practice.
