I am NY and NJ licensed clinical social worker specializing in perinatal mental health. I support parents during pregnancy and postpartum with a variety of challenges including depression, anxiety, grief/loss, birth trauma, fertility, bonding with baby, and life transitions. Babies are welcome in my Nyack office and telehealth is available for NY/NJ.
I believe that connection is at the heart of my work and offer a warm, supportive environment free of judgment (often with a healthy dose of humor thrown in) for parents to find their footing. My approach is individualized and strengths-based and I enjoy working collaboratively with providers and family members to help parents feel better. New parents benefit from a team of helpers and I often help to connect clients to additional supportive services. I offer individual therapy, collateral sessions with family members, and sessions to support bonding with baby. Approaches include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mind-body techniques, mindfulness practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS), self-compassion work, creative arts, and sandtray.
I have advanced training in perinatal mental health with Postpartum Support International, Karen Kleiman (The Art of Holding in Therapy) at the Postpartum Stress Center, Amy Wright Glenn (Perinatal Grief and Loss), and the Internal Family Systems Model. I am a current member of Postpartum Support International and the Hudson Valley Birth Network. When not at my private practice, I enjoy educating creative arts therapists and social workers and have been a guest speaker to undergraduate and graduate students at St. Thomas Aquinas College, NYU, Yeshiva University, Nyack College, the Rockland County Lactation Coalition, the New Moms Circle at Nyack Montefiore Hospital, Fit4Mom Rockland, and Climb leader for Postpartum Support International's Climb- Team Rockland.
