Psychologist
I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from the Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology at Adelphi University and my Mental Health Counseling Degree from Fordham University. My early clinical training, work and research focused on the impact of early life trauma and adversity on well-being and functioning of individuals and their families. Throughout my graduate training I worked in school clinics and major hospitals in the New York Metropolitan area including City College Counseling Center, Holliswood Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital, Maimonides Medical Center, and Lenox Hill Hospital. I have had experience working with diverse populations and individuals of all ages, economic, cultural, ethnic, spiritual, racial, and sexual identities on a wide range of issues.
I completed my pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital where I currently work as a staff psychologist within Department of Psychiatry, a team leader for the Early Treatment Program, and Assistant Professor within Department of Psychiatry Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University. Over last couple of years, I developed several specialty and interest areas which include work with teenagers and young adults and families, assessment and treatment of serious mental illness (first episode psychosis), specialized treatment for trauma-related experiences, personality functioning, high risk behaviors, suicide attempt and loss survivors, and end of life complexities. In addition to clinical care, I provide clinical care supervision, teach, and participate in several research and program development projects.
