Hi, I’m Mackenzie Sherburne (she/her), a licensed therapist specializing in LGBTQIA+‑affirming, sex‑positive care for adults and couples navigating identity, intimacy, relational trauma, and life transitions. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and attachment‑based therapy, always guided by a trauma‑informed lens. I believe therapy can be a space of exploration and healing—where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to rewrite your story.
I currently practice at the Sexuality, Attachment, and Trauma Project in New York City. Before becoming a clinician, I worked as a performer and teaching artist—an experience that shapes how I show up now: curious, creative, and attuned to the many voices inside each client. I specialize in helping folks who are in the midst of grief, emerging from long‑term relationships, exploring new relational structures, or simply wondering who they want to become next.
In session, we’ll explore how early relationships and cultural expectations may have shaped your present patterns. We’ll slow down when needed, tune into what your body and feelings are telling you, and work together to build ways of relating that feel more honest and connected. Whether you’re navigating confusion, shame, or just seeking a clearer sense of self and connection—my goal is to walk with you, at your pace, into the space where you feel more alive, present, and free.
